Harvest reports from Inner Mongolia indicate a 20–30% drop in sweet corn output compared with an average year.
Key factors:
Cold Spring Delayed Growth — Prolonged low temperatures slowed emergence and pushed maturity back by about 10 days, reducing exposure to optimal light and heat conditions.
July Flooding — Between July 21–23, parts of southeastern Inner Mongolia received over 200 mm of rain in just a few days — almost half the region's annual average — causing waterlogging in low-lying fields and damaging crops.
With harvesting underway, both volume and kernel quality are under pressure, and raw material prices are beginning to edge higher.
Mid-season assessments confirm an overall 30% decline in yellow peach production this year.

Spring Frost During Bloom — Reduced fruit set due to poor pollination conditions.
Disease Outbreak — In Lianyungang, around 20,000 mu (≈1,300 ha) of Golden Crown peaches were affected by shot-hole disease.
Hail Damage — Localized hailstorms caused direct fruit injury.

While #83 variety remain steady year-on-year, Golden Crown, #5, and #19 are in short supply, with raw material prices almost double last season. Strong domestic demand is further limiting availability for processors and retailers.
